摘 要:美国当代作家欧茨关注现实与普通民众的日常生活,作品兼具严肃文学和通俗小说的特点.从1976年以来她已有9部小说被欧美8位导演改编为12部电影上映,她本人也担任多部电影的编剧.从跨媒介叙事理论来看,欧茨小说的电影改编取得了一定的业界肯定,但仍存在导演、演员知名度不够,电影宣传推介力度不够,票房收入不高等问题.缘于欧茨在世界文坛的巨大声望及其小说的强烈现实指涉性,其小说电影改编有着较大的观众需求和市场潜力.Contemporary American woman writer Joyce Carol Oates is concerned with reality and daily life of ordinary people, andher works can be classified as both serious fiction and popular fiction. Since 1976, Oates' four novels, one novella and four short storieshave been adapted into twelve films by eight European and American directors, and Oates served as a screenwriter of these films. Seenfrom the perspective of cross-media narrative theory, these films are fairly recognized by critics, but there are some weaknesses such aslow popularity of the directors and actors, inadequate promotion of the films and comparatively low box-office income. Due to Oates'enormous prestige in literary circles and intense reality referentiality of her fiction, the film market and the audience expect more Oates'sfiction to be adapted into films.
