摘　　要：王晓秋的《晚清中国人走向世界的一次盛举》是一部优秀的历史著作。它叙述的是120余年前清政府派出12位官员到世界各国考察的一段历史。清政府面对西方列强的侵扰,表现得十分脆弱和茫然,有了加强国力的愿望,于1887年(清光绪十三年)派出了12位学有专长的中级官员,利用两年时间奔赴亚洲、欧洲和美洲等地,分别访问了日本、法国和美国等20多个国家。这些游历对所到之国的地理风貌、政治制度和教育状况等进行深入调查,并为政府撰写了内容翔实的报告。但是他们的考察成果并未得到清政府应有的重视和借鉴。Wang Xiaoqiu＇s Grand Event that Chinese People Go to World in the Late Dynastyis an excellent work of history.It＇s content is that 120 years ago Manchu government ever sent 12 officials to every countries in the world to inspect for the readers.Before this,faced at the aggressions of western old Power Manchu government became very vulnerable and was in an extremely awkward position by the attack of the aggressions.Faced at this situation,Manchu government sometimes also wanted to strengthen the country＇s force.Then,in 1887（Guangxu 13years）the government sent 12 middle class officials who held rich knowledge to go to some countries of Asia,Europe and America to inspect.In fact,Chinese elites spent 2years and visited more than 20 countries such as Japan,France,U.S.and so on.During their visiting,they launched deep investigation of geography,political system and condition of education.Finally,they wrote reports with detailed contents.Unfortunately the results of the officials＇ investigation did not obtain the research,consideration or use of reference.
