摘　　要：经典教育是美国高等教育的重要组成部分,也是近年来我国高校教育改革关注热点之一,而经典教育的重要内容就是经典阅读。文章通过对中美经典教育的历史与现状进行介绍,提出经典教育,尤其是经典阅读,要求国内图书馆进一步开展阅读推广。Classical education is an important part of the American higher education and has recently become the focus of education reform in China. The reading of classics is also the most important element of the classical education. This paper makes an introduction to the history and status quo of classical education both in the United States and China. It is thought that the classical education,the reading classics in particular should be further promoted in the libraries of China.
