摘　　要：以澳大利亚殖民历史为背景,《浅滩》围绕捕鲸镇安吉勒斯在上世纪70年代末出现的鲸鱼骚动展开,准确捕捉了捕鲸镇在反捕鲸示威中受到的强烈震动及小镇居民对捕鲸的疯狂热情。澳大利亚捕鲸史与殖民史密不可分。鲸鱼骚动直指殖民历史,鞭挞了残酷贪婪的殖民者对于生态环境的破坏,《浅滩》体现出强烈的后殖民生态思想。Against Australia＇s colonial history, Shallows focuses on the chaos of a small whaling town of Angelus in Western Australia at the end of the 1970s, displaying the people＇s obsession with whaling and captures their shocks from the outside world＇s demonstration of anti-whaling. The colonial history and the whaling history are closely and inseparably related in Australia. The chaos of whaling points directly to Australia＇s＂ colonial history, exposing the destruction of nature by the cruel and greedy colonists. In view of this, Shallows stands out as a novel featuring the postcolonial ecological theme.
