摘　　要：《浅滩》是澳大利亚作家蒂姆·温顿的迈尔斯·富兰克林文学奖获奖作品。凭借该作品,温顿可谓小试牛刀便一举成名。小说围绕西澳大利亚捕鲸小镇安吉勒斯在上世纪70年代末出现的鲸鱼捕杀者和保护者激烈对抗引发的骚乱展开,准确捕捉了安吉勒斯在新时期国际环保组织掀起的反捕鲸示威活动中受到的强烈冲击和震动,以及小镇居民对捕杀鲸鱼的不同态度。蒂姆·温顿将有关鲸鱼的航海日志﹑报纸摘要﹑示威口号以及科学文献等有机地融为一体进行拼贴叙事,其生态主题跃然纸上。通过捕鲸者与反捕鲸者的较量,《浅滩》强烈地体现了生态主题和环保思想。Shallows wins Tim Winton his first of four Miles Franklin Award, and Winton rose to stardom as a young writer over a night in the Australian literary circle. The fiction focuses on the whaling chaos in Western Australia, captures the influences from outside worlds on the whaling industry, and displays the whaling town peoples＇ opinions on whale - killing with accuracy. The ecological theme is vividly shown through colleges of narration by joining together the log, news, slogans and scientific and technical hteraturc. Through the description of fierce conflicts between whale killers and whale protectors, Shallows outstands as a novel featuring of environmental protection.
