Objective: To explore the influence of Chinese medicine on T lymphocyte level analysis of 27 patients with HIV infection ⅡA period. Methods: Twenty-seven patients with HIV infection ⅡA period treated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from 2006 to 2012 in Yunnan province were gathered. T lymphocyte counts were analyzed of patients on 5 time points (0, 12, 24, 36, 48 months) before and after treatment. Results: CD~ T lymphocyte counts of patients treated with TCM were reduced with the change of time, from average 517 cell/μL before therapy to average 439 cell/μL after treatment, but the decline speed was slightly lower than the natural decline speed. CD^8 T lymphocyte counts changes were in the overall stable trend over time. There were no differences between before and after of treatment of CD^+4 and CD^+8 T lymphocyte counts. Conclusion: The counts of CD^+4 and CD^+8 T in patients with HIV infection ⅡA period could be influenced by TCM treatment, and TCM treatment could maintain the body's normal immune function and delay AIDS progress by slowing the descent of CD^+4 counts.
