Feeding effects of cornstalk, alfalfa hay,Leymus chinensis and corn silage on the weight gain, feed efficiency and cost effectiveness of growing ewe were investigated. The 20 healthy growing ewes having similar weights and ages were selected and divided into four groups with different dietary, the ratio of concentrate to forage was 40 ∶ 60.The results showed that compared with simply feeding cornstalk (100%),the daily gain of tested ewes feeding on alfalfa hay (50%) + Leymus chinensis (50%) increased by 11.11%,whereas feed conversion efficiency and income were not obvious increase. The daily gain of tested ewes feeding on Alfalfa hay (33.3%) + corn silage (33.3%) + Leymus chinensis (33.3%) increased by 30.72%,and the feed conversion efficiency increased by 18.16%.The daily gain of tested ewes feeding on alfalfa hay (50%) + corn silage (50%) increased by 83.01%,and the feed conversion efficiency increased by 40.74%.Considering the above indexes, the group of ewes feeding on the combination of "alfalfa hay (50%) + corn silage (50%)" had the highest daily gain, feed conversion efficiency and economic profits.
