(P <0 .0 5 ) ;chicks were chosen and randomly divided into 5 treatment groups, each treatment had 6 replicates, and each replicate had 21chicks. The birds were fed with the experiment diets added with 5 levels of citric acid (0, 0.5%, 1.0% , 1.5% , 2.0%), and the diets were equal in metabolic energy and protein. All the experimental diets were not added with any antibiotics. The test results showed that: ① with a supplement of 1.0% citric acid in corn-soybean meal broiler diet, during the stage of 0~21 days the daily gain of the birds in the test groups was obviously higher than that of the control group ( P <0.05), and the feed conversion was remarkably lower than the control and other test groups ( P <0.05). With a supplement of 2.0% citric acid, during the stage of 0~21 days the daily gain and daily intake of the birds in the test groups was obviously lower than that of the control and other test groups ( P <0.05), and their feed conversion was notably higher than that of the control and other test groups ( P <0.05). ② The supplement level of citric acid in diet obviously affects the SB and BE levels of the broilers of 21 and 42 days ( P <0.05), but does not obviously affect the pH value of blood.
