摘　　要：江南传统园林在营造之始,设计者胸中已然酝酿生成贯穿全部设计过程的中心或主题,即意象原型。而其实施则是凭借言与象的互相配合实现。欲探究江南传统园林的设计意图,恰可从园林的言与象入手,分析了解其创作的意象原型,以期窥得江南传统园林创作的一丝脉络。At the beginning of the construction of the traditional gardens in Jiangnan , the designers had already brewed the theme or the central ideas which run through the whole process of the design in their minds ,that is the archetypal image .However ,the implementation depend on the cooperation of the word and the image to achieve. To explore the design intent of traditional gardens in Jiangnan, start from the words and the images of these gardens and analysis the archetypal image in the creation, in order to see a context of the creation of the traditional gardens in Jiangnan.
