摘  要:我国民办高校创办者是学校最关键的决策者和管理者。随着我国民办高校创办者的年龄渐增,接班人选择问题已迫在眉睫。民办高校创办者接班人选择事关民办高校的健康持续发展,但相关研究却很缺乏。本研究发现,当前我国民办高校领导者更替有两种模式:一是让子女接班;二是培养选拔家族成员外的继任者。其中子女接班是主要方式。本文对子女接班的现实合理性进行了探讨,对政府如何规范接班人的遴选条件和过程,以及创办者和接班者如何明晰并承担相应职责提出了建议。The founder plays a vital role in the development of private higher education institutions (HEIs) in China and thus has decisive influence on decision making. With aging of the founders, many private colleges in China are facing the dilemma of leadership transfer. The smooth leadership transfer is the key to the sustainable development of private HEIs, therefore researches on this issue are necessary and urgent yet very limited. This study is one of such efforts. We find that the majority of private college founders have prepared for the leadership transfer by assigning successors or training potential successors; but some of them haven't prepared, which has led to management crisis. There are two approaches to leadership transfer for Chinese private HEIs. One of them is that the offspring of the founder inherit the leadership, and the other is to publicly select a non-family member as successor. Most founders in our survey are willing to choose the first approach. Also discussed in this study is the reasonableness of the first approach, and suggestions are offered that the governments should guide and regulate the leadership transfer in private HEIs and both the founders and potential successors should understand their responsibilities and make efforts for successful leadership transfer.
