摘 要:Active Pacifism is the best description of Abe's policy push since he -most recently took office. The right wing has labeled it progressive and good for Japan. Of course, pacifism is the common goal of many people, but the word "active" reveals Japan' s strategic thinking. This essay will examine the background, nature and meaning of Abe' s Active Pacifism.Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s policy of‘Active Pacifism’covers Japan’s internal affairs, diplomacy and security. Its focus is on amending the pacifist constitution and exercising Japan’s right of collective self-defense.Japan wants a military transformation and a bigger voice in settling international disputes. The international community should watch Japan closely under the ever-changing Asia-Pacific security situation.
