摘　　要：左拉和劳伦斯是两位伟大的欧洲作家,他们都对煤矿工业进行审美观照和书写,反映了当时英法乃至欧洲的工业社会现实和人的灵魂世界。前者注重对煤矿区的自然写实,后者则倾向对煤矿区的生态批判;前者直观再现矿工悲惨生活,后者偏向表现矿区人们的畸形心理。两人都对疾病和死亡进行隐喻表达,控诉和批判西方工业文明的罪恶,表现出他们对西方社会、自然人性的关怀。左拉和劳伦斯的小说就像镜子一样,折射出煤矿区丰富、复杂而沉重的社会现实,为我们理解现代西方社会提供了一个独特的视角,也为我们客观地理解和阐释中国现当代文学提供有益的借鉴。Zola and Lawrence are two great European writers,who write about the coal industry from aesthetic perspectives and reflect the social reality of the then European (as British and French ) industries and the world of the human soul.Zola pays attention to natural realism of the coal mines while Lawrence tends to write from the perspective of ecological criticism.Zola gives a direct description and reproduction of the miners’miserable life while Lawrence has the propensity to show the abnormal psyche of the coal mining community.In denouncing and criticizing the evils of the western industrial civilization,they all use metaphors to write about disease and death to show their concern for the western society and the human nature.Like a mirror,their works reflect the colorful,complex and heavy social reality of the coal mines,thus providing a unique perspective as well as beneficial references for us to understand the modern western society,and to objectively appreciate and explain the modern and contemporary Chinese literature.
