摘　　要：都市文明与中国文化现代性进程息息相关,都属于"西学东渐"影响下中国社会意识形态的新产物。在科学思潮的主导下,都市文明为中国文化的现代性进程提供了发展的空间,促使日常生活呈现出审美化的特质。这导致了都市文明在中国文化的现代进程中获得发展与完善,使得两者共同丰富了科学思潮的人文内涵,并促进科学思潮得以在人文精神的层面来影响社会的大多数。因此,科学思潮既积极地推进了中国社会、文化与城市的现代性进程,同时也为这一进程带来了诸多无法回避的问题。从科学思潮角度切入,可为中国文化现代性进程与都市文明两者的研究提供新的思路与视角。Urban civilization has a close relationship with cultural modernity in China. Both of them were products of Chinese ideology under the influence of the eastward spread of western learning. Led by scientific thoughts, urban civilization provided space for the development of cultural modernity in China, and endowed daily life with aesthetic qualities. It promoted and urban civilization in the modernization of Chinese culture, and both of them enriched the humane intension of scientific thoughts so that scientific thoughts exerted influence over most people on the humane level. Therefore, scientific thoughts not only promoted the modernity of Chinese society, culture and cities, but also brought about a lot of unavoidable problems. The perspective of scientific thoughts can provide a new path for the study of cultural modernity and urban civilization in China.
