论《小镇畸人》中“参与”的重要性

摘　　要：《小镇畸人》是美国现代小说中比较经典的一部作品,小说的内容描写,突出了人在工农业现代化发展过程中的心理反应,即生活环境的改变、人生的挫折和失败等,使当事人感到孤独和困惑,甚至无所适从;他们用自我封闭和想象的方式,逃避环境变迁所带来的生活压力,导致小镇上的人变得与社会大环境格格不入,最终成为社会"畸人"。通过"海明威式的硬汉"形象与"畸人"特质进行对比,剖析造成"畸人"的内外生成缘由,分析社会参与的重要性。＂Winesburg Ohio＂is a classic work in modern American fiction.The content of the novel highlights the people＇s psychological reaction in the process of development of industrial and agricultural modernization, namely, the change of living environment, life＇s setbacks and failures etc., make the people feel lonely and confused, even not know what to do;they use self enclose and imagination to escape environmental changes, which makes the people in the town become social misfits and eventually become the social＂grotesques＂.By comparing＂the Hemingway＇s tough guy image＂and＂abnormal＂characteristics, this paper dissects both the inside and outside reasons which trigger＂grotesques＂, analyzes the importance of social participation.
