女性主义的空间探索与阶级意识——论《玛丽·巴顿》中盖斯盖尔夫人的政治想象

摘　　要：以盖斯盖尔夫人为代表的维多利亚早中期小说家(尤其女性小说家)大多描述了女性对公共空间的探索,女性在工业城市空间中获得了意想不到的身体解放和政治能动性,于是女性主义的性别意识同空间政治融合在小说之中。本文以大卫·哈维的空间理论为出发点,细致梳理出工业小说《玛丽·巴顿》中的资本主义工业城市空间以及玛丽·巴顿所代表的女性主义空间探索。——正是在这样的工业城市空间中,她才得以完成阶级意识的转化,并以无产阶级代言人的身份实现了盖斯盖尔夫人关于无产阶级整体性救赎的政治想象。Gaskell,among other early and mid-Victorian novelists,addresses women 's access to industrial,urban and legal spaces to mediate class conflicts and economic struggles. By focusing on body politics and feminist agency of Mary Barton,the titular heroine of the novel,this paper seeks to study the novel by way of Marxist space analysis. With such spatial adventures in the public sphere,the heroine not only transforms herself from an individual consumer to the spokesperson for the proletarian class consciousness,but represents the novelist's gendered political imagination of a Luka' csian recuperation of proletarian image as a whole.
