Shanghai to add Chopsticks to Its Items of Intangible Cultural Heritage？

摘　　要：A pair of chopsticks （筷子 kuaizi）, used to lift food to the mouth, is a basic accessory used during a Chinese meal. In fact, Chinese have been using chopsticks for more than 3,000 years. To raise people＇s awareness about the importance of promoting the traditional Chinese culture of using chopsticks, Shanghai Chopsticks Culture Promotion Association recently told media that it would apply in 2015 to have chopsticks added to the list of items of the municipality＇s intangible cultural heritage.
