摘　　要：约翰·霍克斯是美国著名后现代主义作家。他所创作的作品主题独特,可以引起深刻的反思。他的小说结构散而不乱,使读者在小说中梦魇般的世界里找到故事的发展方向。这里试图通过弗洛伊德精神分析理论中的人格结构理论,从自我、本我、超我三个方面来剖析小说《血橙》男主人公休走向死亡的原因。在这种独特的恋爱组合关系中,休这三方面的人格不断冲突并且愈演愈烈,这种冲突不仅推动着四人关系及故事的发展,也正是这种冲突导致他的异常行为,最终将他带向了死亡。John Hawkes is a famous postmodernist writer in America.His works have unique themes which can induce deep reflections.Though his novels bare loose structure,they are not random,which renders readers to find story development in a nightmare world of the novel.This paper attempts to analyze the cause of leading hero Hugh＇s death in The Blood Oranges.According to the theory of Freud＇s personality structure,the ego,id and superego.In this unique love pattern,three aspects of Hugh＇s personality continually conflict and this conflict is more and more intensive.The conflict not only drives their relations and the development of the story,but also leads to Hugh＇s abnormal behavior.In the end,this conflict brings him to death.
