摘　　要：论文分析阐述了海外归国留学生与近代中国职业指导事业的作用。认为在近代中国职业指导的兴起发展过程中,归国留学生是一支重要的推动力量。他们不仅把欧美职业指导思想引入国内加以提倡,而且还促进各级学校职业指导的实施,并主持社会职业指导机构的业务活动。归国留学生抱着振兴国家的目的推广职业指导,却因为国内不良的人事环境而成效有限。这反映了近代中国留学生理想抱负与现实遭遇之间的差距。This article narrates an account of how returned students from the United States during the Republic period tried to introduce the idea and practice of vocational guidance into China＇s education system and social services so as to benefit students and the general public when they selected or changed careers. Their endeavors, however, encountered grave difficulties due to the fact that China＇ s hiring systems, whether in the civic services or in the private sectors, were usually based on personal networks.
