To analyst the interference in wireless ad-hoc networks to improve the networks' performance, three common mobile models, i. e. the random waypoint (RWP)model, the Gauss-Markov (GM)model and the reference point group (RPG)model were applied to study. A stochastic geometry approach was used to investigate the spatial distribution of the interferences in a wireless ad-hoc network based on the Poisson point process(PPP) model, and an interference simulation platform constructed based on the mechanism of the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance(CSMA/CA) by using the NS-2 software was use to analyze the cumulative distribution functions (CDF) and the probability density functions (PDF)for interference under the mode' s of PPP, RWP, GM and RPG. It was found that the performance of wireless ad-hoc networks was gleaty degraded by the co-channel interference, since the interference at a receiver crucially depends on the distribution of interfering transmitters ; the PPP based interference distribution characteristics were similar to that under the random waypoint model, but very different from that under the other two mobile models. The reasons for the differences were finally analyzed.
