摘　　要：对旧馆的改造应该把握怎样的原则,是图书馆建设者需要面对和解决的问题。国家图书馆一期维修改造工程以"修旧如初、完善功能、提高品质"为总体改造方针,对一期馆舍的改造在保留经典元素的基础上谨慎推新,增设典籍博物馆展示专区,完善设施设备,努力提升建筑的环境品质和运行品质,取得了良好效果。Which principle should be followed is the fundamental issue that builders face in the library renova- tion process. Taking the National Library of China Phase I Renovation Project as an example, this article elabo- rates on the principle of ＂repairing without any alteration, and improving the function and quality of the entire building＂. The renovation project of Phase I building preserves classic designs and takes a cautious attitude in making dramatic alteration. Through adding exhibition areas for the National Museum of Classic Books, and upgrading the facilities, the environment and operation of the building have been improved. 4 refs.
