摘　　要：美国历史学家周锡瑞结合已有历史档案和最新发掘的历史材料,在研究义和团运动的起源过程中客观分析了这场运动的潮流,时代背景,发生的原因以及这场运动发展的逻辑性。在此基础上,作者重点分析了这场运动对中国社会和法制的巨大影响和冲击。Based on both the newly-discovered and the former historic data, American historian Joseph W. Esherick analyzes the tide, social context, the cause and the logic of the Boxer Uprising in China. Besides, he puts emphasis on the great impact of this campaign on the Chinese society and law.
