论清代康乾时期岭南社会的士风——以何梦瑶为例

摘　　要：何梦瑶是康乾时期典型的岭南士人。生于南海水乡,自幼接受宗族启蒙和私塾教育,成人后经历教书、习医与当差。宦海沉浮19年,游历南北,几任正堂,擢居府臣。其远游、交往者,多限于五岭。辞官回乡,执掌书院,交往广泛,著述广博。观其一生,彰显出传统士人耕读、荣辱、进退的空间与张力。文章通过考证何梦瑶独特的经历和其交往的士人群体,揭示清代康乾时期岭南士人的清贫生活、遗民思想、通学与专学及西学影响、个体与群体互动等士风特点,以及当时岭南社会与文化的特殊面相。A representative scholar in regions south of the Five Ridges in the era of emperors Kangxi and Qianlong,He Mengyao,born in a seaside village off the South China Sea,had since his childhood received clan enlightenment and old-style private education,and had tried at various jobs such as a teacher,a doctor and an official in his adulthood. Having undergone ups and downs in officialdom for nineteen years,He Mengyao had traveled across the country and had been in officialdom several times even to the post of a minister. He＇s excursions and persons associated with were mostly confined within regions south of the Five Ridges; and moreover,after his resignation from officialdom,he went back to his hometown and took charge of an academy,spending most of his time on extensive association with various persons and on writing. A survey of his entire life can highlight the space and resilience of traditional scholars in their part-time learning and self-study,their honor and disgrace,and their advance and retreat. Through a textual research of He Mengyao＇s unique life experience and the scholar community he had associated with,a revelation is expected to be made of such literati ethos of scholars as their poor life,their thought of descendants of a former dynasty,their general studies and special learning and the influence of western learning,and the interaction between individuals and groups in regions south of the Five Ridges as well as the then special social and cultural patterns in such regions in the era of Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.
