Objective To evaluate the influence of exercise endurance and intensity on the appearance of cardiac biomarkers and nitric oxide(NO)in military recruits.Method A total of 65 male military recruits took part in a 5 kilometers run.Serum cardiac troponinI(cTnI),N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)and NO were measured before and after the run.Heart rate(HR)monitoring was also performed during the run to evaluate the exercise intensity. Results Increase of serum cTnI and NT-proBNP were observed two hours following the run,but returned towards pre-exercise level 24 hours after the run.55.38% of participants exhibited cTnI levels above 0.010μg/L and increased in prolongation of HRmax exercise.NO concentration increased significantly immediately after exercise. Conclusions The elevation of cardiac biomarkers and NO is partly associated with endurance exercise intensity. There may exist the increase of the myocardial cell membrane permeability and reversible myocardial damage. The increase of serum NO doesn't affect the release of myocardial markers.
