摘　　要：权力运作机制是英国现代主义小说关注的一个焦点,空间是一切权力机制运作的基础,现实社会中的政治权力冲突、斗争和规训都会印记在英国现代主义小说的各种空间之中。在这些英国现代主义小说中,某个国家、城市、荒岛甚至农场都成为权力的角斗场,空间成为权力规训的手段。英国现代主义小说空间书写中的权力规训表现为小说中当权者对人们现实和心理两种空间内的行为、情感与思想的约束、限制和惩戒。Power mechanism is one of the focuses foundation ;therefore ,the political and power conflicts, of English modernist novels, and for it the space serves as the struggles and discipline must be inscribed into various forms of spaces in English modernist novels. A country, a city, a disserted island or even a farm in English modernist novels could be inscribed as a space of power conflicts ; therefore space becomes methods of power discipline. These inscriptions emerge as the power discipline by the authorities＇ setting restraint, restriction, and punishment upon the subjects＇ behaviors, emotions and thoughts within their physical and psychological spaces.
