摘　　要：美国洛克菲勒基金会由洛克菲勒父子创建,致力于发展教育、医学、公共卫生、农业和纯科学研究.20世纪二三十年代,该基金会为提升美国物理学研究水准,努力为美国年轻一代聘请欧洲名师,掀起了助推美国青年留学欧洲的狂潮.基金会还积极参与全世界各大科学研究中心的建设,为欧洲有为青年提供助学和科研资金,支助欧洲物理学的热点问题研究,对现代物理学的发展起到了推波助澜的作用.The Rockefeller foundation is set up by Rockefeller and his son to sponsor the development of educa- tion, medicine, public health, agriculture and pure science. In the 1920s and 1930s, aiming at enhancing the lev- el of physical research, the Rockefeller foundation hired famous teachers from Europe for the young generation which boosted the trend of the young Americans studying in Europe. It participated in the construction of major sci- entific institutes around the world actively. It also promoted the hot topics in physics in Europe by offering learning grants and scientific research funds. In short, the Rockefeller foundation made glorious contributions in the history of modern physics.
