摘　　要：约翰·厄普代克《兔子四部曲》中塑造了主人公哈利·安斯特朗这一典型的人物形象。哈利的逃离和回归的循环往复使其男性气概陷入螺旋式下降当中,其男性气概从与生俱来沦落为"软汉子",再到最终的死亡,呈现出下降的趋势,最终构成螺旋式下降的特点。哈利作为美国一代人的形象代表,是美国社会发展的缩影,也映射出男性的生存危机。John Updike shaped a typical characters for Harry Ann Strang,the protagonist in Rabbit Tetralogy, Harry~ cycle of escape and regression put his manliness in the spiral, made his manliness from born to become＂ soft man＂, then to the final death, showing a downward trend, finally constituted the characteristics of the downward spiral. Harry, as an representa- tive of the America＇s generation, is the epitome of the social development in the United States, also reflects the male sur- vival crisis.
