Objective To discuss the effect of continuing nursing on blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid level in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods 136 patients with diabetes mellitus in Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital who were treated in Department of Endocrinology from January to December 2013 were selected. They were randomly divided into two groups, 68 cases in the control group, received routine nursing; 68 cases in experiment group, received continuing nursing intervention mode. After 6 months of the intervention, the patient's blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid levels were detected. Results After accepted different nursing model, the blood pressure control in experiment group [systolic blood pressure (120.7±8.9) mm Hg, diastolic blood pressure (83.5±7.8)mm Hg] were significantly better than the control group [systolic blood pressure (126.8±14.3) mm Hg, diastolic blood pressure (89.3±8.8) mm Hg], the differences were statistically significant (P 〈 0.05). After the experiment group received the intervention, fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose [(7.1±1.6), (9.1±2.6) mmol/L] were significantly lower than the control group [(8.7±2,3), (10.7±3.3) mmol/L], the differences were statistically significant (P 〈 0.05). After treatment, cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein of patients in the experiment group [(2.5±0.2), (1.3±0.5), (1.8±0.2) mmol/L] decreased more obviously than those in the control group [(3.6±0.2), (1.5±0.3), (2.1±0.2) mmol/L], the differences were statistically significant (P 〈 0.05). After treatment, high density lipoprotein of patients in the experiment group [(1.7±0.3) retool/L] was significantly higher than the control group [(1.4±0.3) mmol/L], the difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion The application of continuing nursing model for diabetes patients can significantly improve the patient's blood pressure, b
