成人教育定义的回顾与思考

摘　　要：成人教育的定义纷繁多样,至今仍没有形成一个能为广大成人教育工作者普遍接受的充分揭示成人教育本质特点的定义。本文依据定义方法的不同、定义强调的内容、目的不同以及定义是否强调组织性,将国内外有代表性的定义进行了分类;此外还分析了目前定义的困境有:缺乏科学的方法、难以涵盖动态多变的成人教育的内涵、难以囊括成人教育的复杂性,并对此提出相应建议。There has been such a variety of definitions of adult education up to now that none of them is thought to exactly depict its characteristics, and generally accepted by the circle. This paper reviews those representative definitions at home and abroad, and classifies them in terms of their approach, content, objective, and organization-emphasized. The paper then analyzes their drawbacks, and attributes them to such factors as less scientific methodologies, neglect of its property and complexity, and so on. The paper finally proposes some measures to deal with the problems.
