摘　　要：短篇小说一直被认为是弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫创作长篇小说的"副产品"或仅是为长篇小说的创作所进行的探索实验,因而在研究中处于边缘地位。相比较对伍尔夫长篇小说的重复研究与过度阐释,评论界对其短篇小说的研究与关注明显不足。实际上,短篇小说创作贯穿了作家的一生,具有长篇小说不可替代的作用,有其独立的研究价值。考察伍尔夫短篇小说的研究现状,分析其研究匮乏的历史及内在原因,恢复短篇小说在作家研究中应有的地位,可以更全面、深入地了解作家艺术创新的发展脉络。Regarded as the novelist＇s ＂by-product＂, the short fictions have long been the marginal part of Virginia Woolf＇s canon and analyzed only as experimental ground for her novels. She writes short fictions throughout her literary career, which plays the equally important role. A survey on the literature and the exploration of the inner causes can provide an important insight into her innovative approach to writing. In addition, a study of her short fictions can enlarge one＇s understanding and appreciation of Virginia Woolf＇s work as a whole.
