摘　　要：莎士比亚戏剧不是一般意义上的法律文献,剧中也鲜有早期现代英国的法律、法令,但剧作家却在更深层面上思考了法律与自然、理性、自由、权利,乃至民主与道德等重大命题。莎士比亚戏剧中的主人公如勃鲁托斯、安哲鲁、夏洛克、鲍西娅等无不面临着西方法律文明至今仍无法完美解决的两难困境,他们的迷茫和困惑既带有鲜明的历史特征,也是人类共同命运的最佳诠释。Shakespeare＇s plays are not legal documents in a strict sense,neither are there many legal rules or regulations mentioned in them. However,through the depiction of a big variety of personalities in various kinds of political and legal crisis,Shakespeare＇s works provokes their audience into further thinking about those eternal themes of law and nature, reason, liberty, right and even democracy and morality.
