摘　　要：伍连德(1879-1960)博士是我国近代著名的公共卫生学家、医学史家、防疫专家,是第一位获得诺贝尔奖提名的中国人,为促进中国近代医药卫生事业的发展作出了杰出的贡献。为"保存国粹,矫正外论",伍连德博士与王吉民博士一起花费16年时间,广泛收集资料,用英文写成《中国医史》(History of Chinese Medicine)。《中国医史》是中国学者第一部用外文向世界介绍中国医学史的著作,在国际医学史界产生很大影响。Dr. Wu Lien‐Teh （1879‐1960） , the well‐known expert in public health, medical history and epidemic prevention as well as the first Chinese nominee for Nobel Prize, has made outstanding contribution for the development of medicine and healthcare in recent China. In order to preserve the essence of Chinese culture and correct foreigners＇misunderstandings, Dr. Wu Lien‐Teh and Dr. Wong Chi‐Min spent 16 years in collecting material extensively and finally finished writing History of Chinese Medicine in English. As the first work written in English introducing the medical history of China to the whole world, this book has aroused great influence in the international medical history field.
