摘　　要：直隶图书馆于清末建于保定,是直隶省最早的图书馆之一,也是我国清末建立比较早的图书馆之一。历经北洋军阀统治时期、抗日战争时期、解放战争时期,在动荡中艰难发展,从以保存文献为宗旨,逐渐走向以传播知识为主,从阅览收取费用到免费,从馆藏以古籍为主,到不断增加新书,发生了巨大变化。直隶图书馆发展不仅为保定民众阅读提供方便,推动了保定市乃至直隶省民众图书馆意识的增强,也为当时其他图书馆的发展提供借鉴。Zhili Library was built in Baoding in the late Qing dynasty, it is one of the earliest library in Zhili province, and the early-built library in the late Qing dy- nasty. After the Northern Warlords, Sino-Japanese War, the War of Liberation, Zhili Library＇s development was in a hard turmoil. From saving literature to the purpose of disseminating knowledge, reading from a fee to free, from ancient works collection mainly to the new book collections increasing. Zhili Library was not only provides the convenience of reading, but also promoted the growth of the library consciousness in Baoding and even the Hebeiprovince.
