Objective To study the effects of baicalin on mouse model with Parkinson's disease. Methods The 60 male C57BL mice were were randomly divided into model group, baicalin group, the US-dopa group and normal control group, the model group were given intraperitoneal injection 30 mg/kgMPTP, the baicalin group were given 100 mg/kg baicalin gavage 30 mg/kgMPTP, the US-dopa group to 31 mg/kg lavage treatment, 1 times a day, the normal group was given equal saline, 1 times a day, 15 d. Then the motor function, brain striatal DA, brain tissue GSH, GSH-Px, MDA content and nigra TH im- munohistochemical staining of the three groups of mice were measured and statistically analyzed. Results Model mice sus- pension test, swimming test scores were significantly higher than the baicalin group, US-dopa group and normal control group ( P 〈 0.05) ; brain striatal DA levels baicalin group, GSH levels were significantly Bimei dopa and model groups of high ( P 〈 0.05) ; striatum baicalin group of mice GSH-Px, MDA levels were significantly lower than madopar group and model group ( P 〈 0.05). Conclusion Baicalin prophylaxis can effectively protect mice with Parkinson's disease.
