摘　　要：巴布亚新几内亚具有丰富的自然资源,森林在国家社会经济发展中占有重要地位。长期以来由于管理不善及采伐不当,森林覆盖率逐渐降低。文中主要阐述了巴布亚新几内亚林业在国家社会经济发展中的重要地位和作用,介绍了森林资源、森林政策法规的现状及森林经营管理方式,探讨了林产品贸易形势,并指出林业发展中存在的问题及林业的未来走向。Papua New Guinea is rich in natural resources. Forest occupies an important position in the country＇s social economy. Owing to poor governance and improper cutting, forest coverage rate has decreased gradually. This paper illustrated the important position and role of forestry in PNG national socio-economic development, and introduced the present situation of forest resources, forest policies and regulations, as well as the mode of forest management. This paper also described forest products trade there. It discussed the problems existing in the development of forestry and the future development orientation of national forestry. This study is expected to provide theoretical reference for policy makers to implement sustainable forest management.
