摘　　要：《人间天堂》是美国20世纪著名作家F.S.菲茨杰拉德的成名作。小说生动记录了艾莫里·布莱恩"成长——恋爱——幻灭"的历程,深刻揭示了一战后的美国青年对"美国梦"狂放而不懈的追寻。这种追寻,集中体现在艾莫里对自我的追寻及对爱情的追寻中。年轻的艾莫里曾经不顾一切地想要凭借自己的天赋和智力获得声望和地位,后来才发现他所追求的,甚至包括爱情,都不值得赞美。这一幻灭历程,充分显示了"美国梦"的虚无。菲茨杰拉德在《人间天堂》中展现了一系列对生活和时代的观察,这也逐渐成为他后期的小说中持续的创作主题。This Side of Paradise is the masterpieces of American writer F. S. Fitzgerald in 20th Century. The novel records the process of Amory Brian′s growth,love and disillusionment vividly,deeply reveals the wild and un-remitting pursuit of American youth in the ＂ American Dream＂ after the First World War. This kind of pursuit epito-mizes in Amory′s pursuit of self and love. The young Amory,who has expected to obtain the prestige and status by virtue of his talent and intelligence,fails to find out what he wants,even love,is not worthy of praise. This disillu-sionment fully demonstrated the nothingness of ＂ America Dream＂ . Fitzgerald shows us a series of observation of the life and the times in the novel,which has become the continuous creation theme of his later novels little by little.
