摘 要:作为梅文鼎的学术继承人,梅珏成对西学的态度也部分继承了梅文鼎的观点,但由于与西方传教士接触更多,因此其对西学的态度与其祖也存在差别。由于与传教士的矛盾冲突,梅珏成对西学的态度也充满矛盾,既承认西学优于中学,可取其长处,也对承载西学的主体——传教士,以及专攻西学的学者充满不满情绪。As Mei Wen-dings intellectual heir, Mei J ue-cheng partly inherits Mei Wen-dings attitudes to Western learning, but because of his more frequent contact with Western missionaries, his attitudes are also different from Mei Wen-ding's. Due to the conflicts with missionaries, Mei Jue-eheng's attitudes to Western learning are also full of contradictions: he thinks that Western learning is better than Chinese academic stud- ies and should be learned from, however, he is also critical of the missionaries who are the major spreader of Western learning and scholars specializing in Western learning.
