摘　　要：早期美国文学贯串着一条清教主义向自然神论演变的主线,表明上帝的地位在逐渐下降,人的地位在逐步上升。纯清教理念逐渐向清教理念世俗化的演变、《圣经》中的上帝主体地位向上帝作为客体的变化,以及《圣经》以上帝为叙述主体逐渐向以作者为叙述主体的转变,共同演绎了这一历史时期上帝形象的巨变。There is a mainline of evolution from Puritanism to Deism in the early American literature,which shows that god's status is falling,while human beings' rising. And god's image changes greatly in the early American literature,in that the refined puritan ideals are getting secularized,in that god's status as subject from the Bible turns to His status as object,and in that god as narrative agent in the Bible turns to the author as narrative agent.
