摘  要:《赵氏孤儿》是我国最早传入欧洲的,也是18世纪唯一传入欧洲的剧作。它在18世纪的英国共有三个译本,都转译自法国神父马若瑟的法译本,是当时英国人了解中国戏剧和中国文化的途径之一。三个译本包含了译者对此剧和中国文化的理解,体现在译文的多个细节中,比如剧名和人名的拼写、标点符号的运用、用词的选择等。而且,同一个细节上,三个译本的理解和表达往往也各不相同。有的译者为了准确传达中国文化,还在他认为能体现中国文化但英国读者又不易理解之处添加了注释,对中国文化予以解释。在细读原文的基础上,深入分析《赵氏孤儿》在18世纪英国的翻译情况,揭示了中国戏剧在18世纪英国的传播状貌。Zhao Shi Gu Er, the first Chinese play as well as the only one that had been introduced into Europe in the 18th century, had three English translations in Britain in that century, all of which were rendered from Joseph Maria de Premare's French version, and was one of the approaches to the under- standing of the Chinese drama and Chinese culture for the British People at that time. They were the outcome of the conscientious efforts of the English translators, who made careful deliberations on the Chinese spellings of the names of the play and the characters, the punctuations, the choice of words, etc. Moreover, regarding the same details, the understanding and expressionss of the three versions might also be different. In order to accurately convey the Chinese culture, some translators also added notes to the contents which were thought to reflect Chinese culture but not easy for the English readers to understand. A detailed study of these English versions will reveal the overall situation of the accept- ance of Chinese drama and Chinese culture in Britain in the 18th century.
