Objective To discuss of the effects of alprostadil on the micro-inflammatory status and aquaporin protein 2 (AQP2) of patients with chronic renal failure. Methods 98 patients with chronic renal failure who received the treatment between January 2012 and June 2014 were randomly divided into control and observation groups with 49 ones in each group. The control group received the conventional treatment on chronic renal failure. The observation group received the conventional treatment combined with alprostadil. Results After the treatment, the serum β2-MG, urine β2-MG, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum creatinine(CREA), NF-κB, interleukin 6 (IL-6), and AQP2 levels of the observation group were obviously lower than those of the control group, while its level of HGB was obviously higher than that of the control group (all P 〈 0.01). The total effective rate of the observation group (87.76%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (71.43%) (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion Alprostadil has certain curative effects on chronic renal failure. It can significantly improve the patients' renal function, reduce inflammation, and correct the disorder of water metabolism.
