摘　　要：哲学社会科学在认识世界、传承文明、创新理论、咨政育人、服务社会等方面均可以发挥其重要作用,相对而言,社会服务对于哲学社会科学而言更为重要和根本,其原因在于:哲学社会科学的学科特点蕴含了其服务社会的可能性;哲学社会科学的理论更替决定了其服务社会的必要性;哲学社会科学的历史发展证明了其服务社会的有效性。因此,社会服务才是哲学社会科学最为基本的属性。Philosophy and social sciences can play an important role in understanding the world, inheriting the civilization, innovating the theory, consulting the politicals and educating the people, servicing the society and so on. Relatively speaking, servicing the society is much more important and fundamental than the other roles for the philosophy and social sciences. The reasons are as follows： First of all, the subject characteristics of philosophy and social sciences contains the possibility to service the society. Secondly, the replacement of theories of philosophy and social sciences decides the necessity to service the society. Thirdly, the historical development of the philosophy and social sciences proves the effectiveness to service the society. Therefore, social service is the most basic attribute for the philosophy and social sciences.
