摘　　要：作为工人运动的重要组成部分,缩短工时、增加工资是工人阶级对平等和公正的不懈追求。美国缩短工时运动历经了一百五十年之久,其兴起和衰落与美国社会工作伦理观念的演变以及美国从农业社会向工业社会的变迁密切相关。To cut down the working time and increase salary makes a very important part in the labor movement, which is a continuous pursuit for equality and justice. In the United States, the short-time working movement has lasted about 150 years, whose vicissitude is closely related to the development of American work ethic concept and the transmission from agricultural to industrial society.
