摘　　要：胡文虎是与陈嘉庚齐名的南洋华侨领袖,他缔造了"虎标良药"和"星"系报业两大传奇,人称"万金油大王"和"报业巨子"。同时,胡文虎是著名的慈善家。他办慈善公益带有浓厚的爱国情怀,秉持人本主义。他的慈善公益活动覆盖面广,时间跨度大,内容丰富多样,受惠者众多。他的慈善公益思想对当前发展中国慈善公益事业有很好的启发作用。Aw Boon-haw was, along with Tan Kah Kee, a leader of overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia in modern era, who created two miracles, that is inventing some good medicines named Tiger and establishing newspapers labeled Star. Just because of these experiences, Aw Boon-haw was known as the King of Essential Balm and the Giant of Newspaper. When taking part in philanthropy and Public welfare, Aw Boon-haw who was a famous philanthropist, has a strong patriotic feeling, and upheld the principle of Humanism. And Aw Boon-haw widely engaged in philanthropic activities for a long time, while lots of people got material benefits from these activities. His thoughts about public welfare and philanthropy were illuminating for developing Chinese public welfares and philanthropies.
