Objective To investigate the efficacy of the ReCell@ techniques for healing of donor site in skin grafting. Methods Included in this study were a total of 30 patients, who were hospitalized in Burns Unit, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between August 2011 and April 2012 and scheduled for free skin grafling. The patients were randomized into the study group (n=15) and the control group (n= 15). For healing of the donor site, the study group received ReCell@ plus Urgo@, and the control group received Urgo alone. The patients were followed up until the end of post-operative 12 weeks. Between the two groups, we compared the severity of pain during the first wound dressing, time to wound healing, infections and the cosmetic outcomes. Results Compared with control group, the study group showed shorter healing time of the donor site[ (6.6±1.1) d vs (9.4±1.5) d, P〈0.01 ], milder pain at the first wound dressing (P〈0.05) and better cosmetic outcomes (P〈0.05). There was no significant difference in the infection rate of donor site between the two groups (P〉0.05), Conclusion ReCell@ can promote donor site healing and improve the healing quality of wound.
