摘　　要：农业是国民经济的基础,中国西部干旱半干旱地区农业结构调整关系到地区经济的长久发展,从而缩小与东部发达地区差距。西部地区特色农业发展应依据现实基础与优势,大力发展现代畜牧业。本文研究甘肃省张掖市畜牧业发展战略,以期对中国西部地区畜牧业发展指明方向。Agriculture is the foundation of national economy. The agricultural structure adjustment of the arid and semi-arid in western China area is in relation with the economic development of the area for a long time. According to the realistic basis and advantage of area characteristic agriculture development in West China,the development of modern animal husbandry is the best choice. Taking the livestock industry development strategy in Zhangye city of Gansu province as an example,the paper explored the development strategy of husbandry industry in West China.
