摘　　要：工程设计是为工程建设服务的智力密集、技术密集型的行业,在工程建设中具有举足轻重的作用,是工程项目的经济效益、社会效益、质量安全的保障。报告通过对我国及贵州省工程设计行业基本情况的调查,提出目前面临的挑战和发展思路,指出贵州省工程设计行业水平远远落后于全国平均水平,尤其需要后发赶超。该调查报告对贵州省工业设计院的建设具有指导作用。Engineering design is a kind of intelligence-intensive and technology-intensive industry which serves for playing a vitally important role in engineering construction. It ensures the economic benefit, social benefit, quality and safety of engineering project. By investigating the basic situation of engineering design in China and Guizhou Province, we pointed out the challenge that we faced the direction of development. We also emphasized that the level of engineering design industry in Guizhou Province fell far behind the national average, which more efforts need to be done to catch up with and surpass the advanced national levels. The investigation report can help to guide the de- velopment of industrial design institutions in Guizhou Province.
