摘　　要：近代浙江湖州吴兴南浔镇人刘承干一生痴心藏书,醉心刻书,用心护书。他倾巨资藏书刻书聚书60万卷、20万册,并精心设计建造嘉业藏书楼用以庋藏。在战乱频仍、内忧外患交织的民国时期,嘉业堂藏书最终难免散出的厄运。刘承干的藏书思想与实践远远超越了传统藏书家,彰显了一代藏书家矢志守护祖国宝贵文化遗产的高尚情怀。Liu Chenggan, born in Nanxun village, Wuxing district, Huzhou city, Zhejiang province, devoted all his life to the cause of collection books, engraving books and reserving books. He invested huge amount of money on collecting, engraving books, about 600,000 volumes and 200,000 copies. Besides, he designed Jiaye Library elaborately to keep books. During the Republic of China, with the frequent wars, domestic strife and foreign invasions, the books kept in Jiaye Library were destroyed miserably. Liu Chenggan＇ s book-collecting thoughts and practice surpassed those traditional book collectors, which demonstrated those bibliophiles＇ determination and noble thoughts to protect national precious cultural heritage in that generation.
