摘　　要：杨·凡·艾克的伟大之处在于他将自然主义的写实图式与中世纪的象征体系合而为一,完美融合,达到一种自然平衡的状态,开启了尼德兰油画历史的新气象。我们对尼德兰画家杨·凡·艾克《阿尔诺芬尼结婚像》的误读,缘于对象征含义的过度解读。The greatness of Jan van Eyck lies in that he perfectly integrated realistic schema of naturalism with medieval symbolic system and well balanced them, and thus created a new scene of Netherland oil painting history. Our misunderstanding of his ＂The Arnolfini Portrait＂ is due to a excessive interpretation of its implied symbolic connota- tion.
