文化身份的坚守与性别身份的困境——裘帕·拉希莉小说中侨居海外的印度妻子形象分析

摘　　要：海外印度妻子在家庭空间里通过使用民族语言、坚持印度传统习俗等方式成为海外印度人传承民族文化的主要力量,同时她们也通过这些方式以应对自我在异国文化空间里文化身份的困境。同时,海外印度妻子们需调整婚姻、家庭和爱情等方面的性别身份困境。This paper focuses on several Indian wife images living abroad in Jhumpa Lahiri＇s novels and short stories. In the light of the spatial cultural theory, the paper analyses their difficulties in sticking to their cultural identity and the dilemma of gender identity. By speaking national language and keeping to traditional Indian customs, the Indian wives abroad are the main forces upholding the Indian culture in foreign countries. And at same time, they have to deal with their identity trouble. On the other hand, Indian wives abroad must manage the problems of marriage, family and love to overcome the dilemma of gender identity. So, it should be mentioned that that the difficulty of gender identity has been ignored.
