摘　　要：奥斯汀不同于美国其他大城市的繁忙拥堵,现代化大城市的活力与乡间小镇般的悠闲相互映衬,使得奥斯汀独具"大城小镇"的休闲城市魅力。从城市整体空间格局和中心区设计2个方面综合分析奥斯汀的城市空间特色,以探讨其对我国中等城市营造优质空间的启示。Different from the bustling of other major cities in the U.S., Austin has the unique charm like as ＂large city and small town＂ as a leisure city, in which contradiction between the vitality of the modern city and the leisure of the country town. This article will make a comprehensive analysis on urban characteristics of Austin with the following two aspects： the overall spatial morphology and the downtown design, aiming at supplying certain references to create a good urban space for medium-sized cities in China.
