Objective To study expression of MACC1 ( in colon cancer-1) and c-met in prostatic cancer, and explore their clinical pathological significance. Methods The expression of MACC1 and c-met protein was detected by immunohistochemistry in 76 cases of prostatic cancer and 16 cases of hyperplasia of prostate. Results MACC 1 protein positive rate was 59.2% in prostatic cancer, which was significantly higher than that of the hyperplasia of prostate (18.8%), (χ^2=8.671, P=0.003). The positive rate of c-met protein in prostatic cancer was 64.5%, which was significantly higher than hyperplasia of prostate (31.2%), (χ^2=6.018, P=0.014). The follow-up results showed that positive patients survival rate of MACC1 and c-met were significantly lower than that of negative patients, (χ^2=5.480, P=0.019;χ^2=14.826, P〈0.001). MACC1 was positively correlated with c-Met. Conclusion MACC1 and c-met protein overexpression were closely related to clinical stage, pathological grade and prognosis of prostatic cancer. MACC 1 and c-met were positive correlated. Combined detection of MACC 1 and c-met can reflect the biologic behavior of prostatic cancer and contribute to judgment the prognosis of the patients.
